| Appeal launches 5th November |
|
The appeal will be launched at the Centre at 5.15pm on Thursday 5th November with a special guest appearance by 'Phantom of the Opera' star Peter Karrie who will sing a few songs before switching the lights on. The focal point for the Light up a Life appeal is the spectacular Christmas tree in the Centre. Visitors to the Centre who want to commemorate their loved ones can add a message to the Book of Remembrance at the Centre (or on the Hospice's website) and add a light to the tree in their name.
The appeal will run until 31st December with the stand in the Centre being manned by Hospice volunteers until that date. The Hospice expects that this will help raise the £1.3million is needs annually to provide its service for those suffering form Cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
Nick Beckett, General Manager Queens Arcade said, "Once again we are delighted to be hosting the George Thomas Hospice Care appeal in the lead up to Christmas. The Hospice provides vital care and support for local families and we feel it is important to do whatever we can to assist them in this worthwhile cause." For more information please go to |
